Our Broadway Singing Class is designed for teen singers who want to develop their vocal skills, confidence, and performance abilities in a fun and supportive group environment.

Students learn techniques used by professional performers while exploring the excitement and creativity of Broadway and musical theatre. Through vocal training, performance practice, and teamwork, students grow as singers, performers, and confident individuals.

Below are answers to some of the most common questions about our Broadway Singing Class.

1. What Is Broadway Singing Class?

Broadway Singing Class is a performance-based vocal program for teenaged singers who are interested in musical theatre and developing their skills as performers.

Students work on Broadway and show-based repertoire while learning proper vocal techniques, musical skills, and performance strategies.

This class is focused specifically on Broadway and musical theatre music rather than pop, rock, country, or other contemporary styles.

2. How Long Are the Lessons?

Classes are 60 minutes each week, providing students with twice the instructional time of traditional 30-minute lessons.

The longer class format allows students more time to develop vocal skills, practice techniques, perform songs, rehearse together, and receive feedback from teachers.

3. What Skills Do Students Learn?

Students develop a wide range of vocal and musical skills, including:

• Vocal warmups and proper singing technique
• Vocal patterns, exercises, and games
• Ear training
• Melody and rhythm recognition
• Sight reading
• Harmony skills
• Music theory
• Performance techniques
• Microphone technique
• Working with a sound system
• Ensemble singing

Students learn not only how to sing, but how to perform with confidence and connect with an audience.

4. Can I Enrol During the School Year?

Yes!

While most students enrol at the beginning of the academic year to secure their spot, we welcome new students throughout the year whenever space is available.

If a class is full, students can join our waiting list, and additional classes are created as enough students are ready to form a new group.

5. How Do Students Learn to Perform?

Performance is a major part of the Broadway Singing experience.

Students practice:

• Singing with microphones
• Performing with a sound system
• Stage presence
• Movement and expression
• Working together as an ensemble

Students learn how to prepare songs for a live audience while developing confidence, professionalism, and performance skills.

6. Are There Performance Opportunities?

Yes!

Performance is an important part of the AML experience.

Broadway Singing students participate in:

• Grand Student Concerts in February and June featuring live accompaniment from a band
• Festival of Lights performances in December
• Singers’ Showcase in April
• Additional community performance opportunities throughout the year

These experiences allow students to set meaningful goals, gain real performance experience, and celebrate their growth as singers.

7. How Much Does Broadway Singing Class Cost?

Most students enrol for the full academic year (September through June).

• Annual Tuition: $1,525
• Monthly Payment Plan: 10 convenient payments of $149 per month
• Tuition is processed through our secure pre-authorized monthly payment system.

8. How Many Students Are in Each Class?

Broadway Singing Class is intentionally kept small with a maximum of 9 students.

This allows students to benefit from the energy and teamwork of a group environment while still receiving individual feedback and support.

9. How Many Teachers Are in Each Class?

Each class has two teachers, providing students with additional support, guidance, and feedback throughout the lesson.

Our teachers bring experience in vocal instruction, performance, and music education to help each student continue developing their skills.

10. What Materials Are Provided?

AML provides students with everything they need to support their learning, including:

• Custom practice audio tracks
• Lyric sheets
• Sheet music
• Song folder
• AML tote bag
• Pencil

Students can use these resources to practice effectively at home and continue improving between classes.

11. When Is Broadway Singing Class?

Broadway Singing Class runs:

Thursdays from 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Classes are one hour each week and provide students with dedicated time to develop their vocal skills, rehearse, and prepare performances.

12. Does Singing Help Students Develop Other Life Skills?

Absolutely.

Music is the vehicle we use to help students develop important life skills, including:

Performing in front of others helps students become more comfortable expressing themselves and builds confidence that carries into many areas of life.

13. What Is the Game Room?

The Game Room is open during class hours.

Our downtown studio is also used for special events, including teen movie nights, Professional Development Day programs, summer camps, and staff team-building activities.

Many students have developed friendships through Airdrie Music Lessons that extend beyond their music lessons.

14. Where Are Lessons Held?

Broadway Singing Class is held at our Downtown Airdrie location.

Our downtown school is home to many of our programs, including:

• Acoustic Guitar
• Piano
• Singing
• Ukulele
• Fine Art
• Junior Music Explorers

• Drama

We have created a welcoming learning environment where students can develop their musical skills while becoming part of the AML community.
